The first current buffer capacitor from Audiotec Fischer under the brand name Brax created a revolution in car hi-fi technology in 1992. The current supply of a capacitor - which provides significantly quicker impulses than a car battery - led to an unknown true-to-impulse playback, and the stabilising of the current resulted in excellent performance recovery. Now the next revolution has begun in the field of car hi-fi electric power supply, and once again it is from Audiotec Fischer. The Helix XXL Competition Power Station, which had its world premiere at the CAR+SOUND 2005, enables the computer-controlled stabilisation of the power amplifier input voltage from 12 to 15 V up through max. 200 A or 100 A continuous current, respectively. In combination with the Helix Power Station and a capacitor, the car battery becomes the best possible power supply in the world for car hi-fi equipment and even significantly outplays the power supply at home. The numerous features of the Helix Power Station are i.e. the actual amplifier input voltage monitoring, protection against reverse polarity, continuous output voltage control an parallel operations of several Power Stations.

When listening to a good hi-fi system at home, we are basically hearing nothing but modulated household electricity. In the car, we hear the power of the generator contaminated by the sundries of other connected electrical units who have nothing to do with good music.

Aside from a perfect power supply stabilisation, which can also be adjusted by turning a potentiometer, the Helix Power Station offers a number of further advantages. Here are the most significant key features:
The car battery is protected from under voltage below 10 V. Thanks to a switch, the output voltage can be switched off for maintenance. The function of connected equipment is monitored by IMS-Technology (Integrated Managing Software). Using an external display, a BUS System Connector enables the control of the power station as well as the connected Helix Power Amplifiers. A delayed remote output protects the car hi-fi system from switching noises. Using a master/slave control, several Helix Power Stations can be connected in parallel.
The fact that the product quality including selected SMD components on a copper-plated circuit board and 24-carat gold-plated power connectors is indisputably excellent despite the low price is typical for products from Helix and Audiotec Fischer.
